Dr. Daswani has a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University (CACREP accredited) and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University (APA accredited). Dr. Daswani also has a Doctorate from Albizu University and completed her psychology predoctoral internship at Trinitas Regional Medical Center (APA accredited). She pursued advanced training in trauma-focused care, psychoanalysis, neuropsychological testing, DBT, and CBT at the Karen Horney Clinic, Miami Children's Hospital, and Neuropsychological Consulting of New York.
Dr. Daswani has spent years empowering clients to be the most unapologetic version of themselves. Her approach to therapy is eclectic, as she's trained in various modalities. She has specialized in treating anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders across the lifespan. Her clinical work is empirically and scientifically driven, focusing on employing modern psychological theory. As a trilingual, bicultural clinician, she's known to be straightforward, down to earth, challenging, and occasionally humorous, but mostly very kind in session.
Dr. Daswani believes strongly in the resiliency of all individuals. She prioritizes understanding your unique environment, culture, and family background and the roles these play in your daily life. With the right tools and support, she believes you can overcome challenges and ultimately grow and thrive. Dr. Daswani believes the most effective way to achieve positive results is to take a very individualized approach to assessing and creating effective, customized plans to meet your unique needs. Dr. Daswani is committed to destigmatizing therapeutic services and normalizing the need for outside support throughout life's different stages.
Dr. Daswani currently serves as the Staff Psychologist for graduate and international students at NJIT.
